Rhizospheric bacteria are one of the microorganisms found in rhizosphere of plant. These bacteria have demonstrated their ability to promote plant growth either directly or indirectly. Over the years, the use of chemical fertilizers has been widely employed to increase the yield of plants. Nevertheless, it negative impact on plants cannot be overlooked as it continues to pose several health risk. There is a need to shift from this culture into a more suitable means, of achieving the same goal on a healthier note. Rhizospheric bacteria have shown their ability to formulate biofertilizers by providing plants with the nutrients needed for their growth. This could be through nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization, among others. This paper aims to support the use of rhizospheric bacteria in promoting the growth of plants; hence, it will review rhizospheric bacteria as a potential source of biofertilizer.
